The Moral Argument for God’s Existence.

An atheist might say you can be good without believing in God. However the question isn’t can you be good without believing in God but can you be good without God? Here’s the problem if there’s no God. What basis remains for objective good or bad, right or wrong? If God does not exist objective moral values do not exist. Here’s why. Without some objective reference point we    really have no way of saying something is up or down. Gods nature however provides an objective reference point for moral values. It’s the standard which all action and thoughts are measured. However, if there is no God then there is no objective reference point. All we are left with is one persons view point as opposed to some other persons view point. This makes morality subjective not objective.  It’s like a preference for vanilla ice cream. The preference is in the subject not the object. Therefore it doesn’t apply to other people. In the same way subjective morality applies only to the subject. It’s not va

Just Imagine Your Own Personal Documentary.

This is just an analogy. Just imagine you passed out of this life and you woke up in a gigantic theater. In front of you is a huge screen. Then to your right, all of a sudden, these doors open an angel flies in and comes up to you and says welcome to the Theatre of Judgment. Relax. Just watch the screen.

There on the screen you see your life. It’s everything you ever did here on earth. It’s everything you ever said here on earth. It’s everything you ever thought. These are what are called the sins of commission. However, then you proceeded to watch the sins of omission. These are all the things we should have done but we didn't do.

At the end of the film, as you're recovering, the angel comes back and says, “Relax. There is going to be a second showing. Then all the people who were featured in the film of your life are all waiting outside. We're going to let them in and come and view your life a second time.”

How would you feel if your life were judged on that basis? That is exactly how God judges us. But this happens in an instant. I don't know about you. I would not want a private viewing. Let alone a public viewing of my life. I do not need convincing that I thought said and done things that I shouldn't have and there are things I should have done but I didn't do.

What a lot of people don't realize is the consequences of all that stuff on the film disconnects us, separates us from God.  It works a bit like an overdraft in a bank account. If you have an overdraft or I have an overdraft you can't help me; I can't help you. The only one who can help us is someone in credit This is something many people won't admit and acknowledge. So what do people do in the world, deflect it.

“It wasn't my fault” “It was the parents fault.” “It was the teachers.” They deflect onto somebody else. Others deny it. Other people feel so uncomfortable with it they try and drown it.

Bottom line if you are guilty in the sight of God you cannot deny it. You cannot deflect it. You cannot drown it. The only way you can get rid of your guilt and escape the final judgment before a Holy and just God is to dissolve it in the blood of Jesus.
