Election Results?

Were the results of this election God's will? Did God answer prayers? I don't know and neither does anyone else. Unless there is someone on this planet that hears from God and He spoke to them directly. Anything beyond this is speculation.

As Christians, we have a doctrine of prayer I call prayer roulette. We send up our requests and if the answer is different from what we requested then we change our response. If we get what we prayed for we say, "He's answered our prayers." If we don't get what we asked for we say, "He's teaching us patience," or "He has another plan." It’s like moving the ball on the roulette table after it lands.

Franklin Graham said God intervened in American politics to stop godless, atheistic progressive agenda. Has he forgotten what scripture s says about the nations of this world?

1 John 5:19 (NIV)
[19] We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

 Luke 4:6 (NIV)
[6] And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to.

If Hillary Clinton won would that mean God wanted this agenda to continue? What about the other nations of this planet that have believers living in them? Does God want Communism to continue? What about nations that live under Islam rule?

Then there is the question. What about true believers that prayed for Clinton to be elected? Are those that are truly born again believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior only Republicans? Can they be Democrats also? Are they wrong and Graham is right? Does Graham have a different line of communication with God that's better then other believers that have a different political idealology then his?

The problem is that Christians in the USA have become so politically party minded they become no gospel of God's Kingdom good. We should also remember that the gospel is about the Kingdom of God however, the institutionalized religion we call Christianity today has created an amalgamation of the nations of the world and God's kingdom. This mindset has given the devil a foothold within the body of Christ here in the USA. It's what would be called being "unequally yoked".

Jesus said that His kingdom was not of this world. It was from another place.

Was this election results God's will? I don't know. He didn't tell me. However, when it comes to the kingdoms of mankind we see this in the scripture.

The devil led him up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, “I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So, if you worship me, it will all be yours.” - Luke 4

We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. - 1 John 5

We see that the nations of the world are under Satan’s control. We also see that the body of Christ are the representatives of God's kingdom here on earth thus, the mandate "Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven." The body of Christ are to live as strangers and aliens within the nations of this earth. We are a nation unto ourselves. We are not to enter into covenants with the kingdoms of mankind. The only covenant we are to agree to and be a part of is the New Covenant.

Here's a quote from someone who doesn't know Jesus, "Anyone who supports this man (Trump) is someone I do not want being a part of my life. It's not a difference of opinion, it's a difference of every political movement since 1920. For some, it's a matter of life or death."

Another quote from a professing Christian. Here are terms they gave to Donald Trump, "Ochre Ogre, Volditrump"
Let's take the first quote. If I wanted to share Jesus with this person and I professed to be a republican, would they be open to hear the message of the gospel of the Kingdom of God? No. Then we must ask ourselves, what’s more important taking a political position at the expense of being able to share the gospel or this person’s soul?

Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God — even as I try to please everybody in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved. Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. - 1 Corinthians 10

Should citizens of God's kingdom take political positions within the nations of the world? No. Paul said to Timothy, "No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs—he wants to please his commanding officer."

Jesus didn't send the disciples out into the world to make the nations of the world into Christian nations. He sent them out to invite all people from every nation into His Kingdom which is not of this world but from another place.

Now for the second quote by a professing Christians. These are terms of hatred (Ochre Ogre, Volditrump) towards a government official. This same Christian speaks of love out of one side of their mouth and then hate from the other. Whether you agree or disagree with some political officials in the nations of the world, Jesus loves them. If Jesus is Lord, he said love your neighbors and your enemies. This same Christian not only spoke words of hatred towards Trump but also fellow believers that had a different political opinion then theirs.

I know this, Jesus loves Trump despite his sociopolitical views. If Jesus loves Trump, would Jesus ever use this persons words to refer to Donald Trump? I might be going out on a limb here, but I'm going to go with Jesus would NOT therefore if Jesus wouldn't then neither should I, this is if he's really my Lord.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in God's likeness. Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be. Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring? My brothers, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs?  Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water. - James 3

I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone —  for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, - 1 Timothy 2

If Jesus tells us to pray for secular leaders, then it would be hard to speak hatred towards them. However, if we are so wrapped up in the politics of the nations of the world then we compromise the message of eternal life.

Whether this election was God's will or not is not our concern as followers of Jesus Christ. Our concern is the gospel of the Kingdom of God not the nations of the world.

“Therefore come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” – 2 Corinthians

The Deceitfulness of Sin

put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; - Eph 4:22

How does an Eskimo kill a wolf? The Eskimo coats his knife blade with blood and allows it to freeze there. Then the Eskimo adds another layer of blood, and then another. As each succeeding smear of blood freezes to the blade of the knife the Eskimo adds an additional coating until the blade is concealed by a substantial thickness of frozen blood. Then the knife handle is buried in the frozen ground with the blade up. The marauding wolf follows his sensitive nose to the scent and tastes the fresh- frozen blood. . . . And licks it. . . . More and more vigorously the wolf licks at the bait until the keen edge is bare. Feverishly now, he licks harder. . . . In the arctic night so great becomes his craving for blood that he does not notice the razor- sharp sting of the naked blade on his own tongue. Nor does he recognize the instant at which his insatiable thirst is being satisfied by his own warm blood. . . . “More!” his carnivorous appetite craves, “more!” Until dawn finds him dead in the snow.

If you’re finding satisfaction in your sin, you’re licking the blade. Eventually, you will reach the razor- sharp edge and fail to recognize the danger. Sin always creates greater desire for itself, and it always leads to heartbreak. It could even lead to your demise.

Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. - John 8:34 (NIV)

Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey —whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? - Romans 6:16 (NIV)

They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for a man is a slave to whatever has mastered him. - 2 Peter 2:19 (NIV)

But suppose the servant says to himself, ‘My master is taking a long time in coming,' and he then begins to beat the menservants and maidservants and to eat and drink and get drunk. The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the unbelievers. - Luke 12:45-46
